From ratchet screwdrivers to digital torque

Since 1988, Stand Tools has created two product categories — ratchet screwdrivers and magnetic tools. These innovative, practical products proved that our R&D spirit could keep pace with the market and carry the company through a competitive industry.

In the summer of 2004 we started to develop a digital torque wrench — the first such project in Taiwan. After four years of experiments and research, in 2008 we launched DG®-II, the first MIT (Made in Taiwan) digital torque wrench. It is not merely a device; it shows the professionalism of Stand Tools.

The brains behind the DG®-II programme — developing both its electronic and mechanical parts — are three brothers: Alston, Calvin and Brand Hsiao, leading engineering and sales. With formal training in electronics and marketing, and plenty of passion and determination, they turned an innovative idea into a product line.

Milestones

1988 – today

  1. Company founded

    Stand Tools is founded in Taichung and creates two product categories: ratchet screwdrivers and magnetic tools.

  2. ISO 9002

    Quality management system certified to ISO 9002.

  3. Digital torque R&D

    In the summer of 2004 Stand Tools starts developing a digital torque wrench — a first in Taiwan.

  4. DG®-II launched

    After four years of research, Stand Tools launches DG®-II, the first MIT (Made in Taiwan) digital torque wrench, and starts building its torque calibration laboratory.

  5. CE mark & innovation award

    CE mark for all digital torque wrench series (Aug). Taiwan SMEs Innovation Award for the digital torque wrench (Nov).

  6. TAF accreditation

    The Stand Tools Calibration Laboratory is accredited by TAF (No. 2248) and receives the TAF & ilac-MRA combination mark.

  7. Top 20 award

    China Domestic and Foreign Hardwares Top 20 Award.

  8. Golden Pin Design Mark

    Stand Tools receives the Golden Pin Design Mark.

  9. OLED generation

    OLED digital torque tools, mini torque wrenches and double-ended ratchet wrenches are introduced.

  10. New catalog

    The 2026 catalog brings together digital, mechanical and interchangeable-head torque tools.

An accredited calibration laboratory

What is laboratory accreditation?

Accreditation shows the world a laboratory's competence, technology, management system and quality control. The Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) examines our laboratory and supervises that it follows ISO/IEC 17025, local laws, international standards and TAF regulations — from quality control to test procedures and results. The Stand Tools Calibration Laboratory (No. 2248) is accredited by TAF for torque wrenches and torque transducers.

Why does it matter?

Reports issued by an accredited laboratory are valid in most countries and accepted by other laboratories, so customers can rely on the validity of every calibration report.
